Grades 3-5
The activities that I post are meant to be used many times. Please go to the Past Lessons page and dive deeper and MASTER activities from before! If you are able and want to record an audio or video of yourself doing them, I would love it if you emailed them to me. An audio version can be recorded using the "Voice Memo" app, and a video version can be made using the Camera on an iPhone. (I don't know what to use on an Android).

The Percussion Family
I think we did a good job looking at the String & Woodwinds Family instruments. Here is a video that introduces the tympani instrument, probably the coolest instrument in the family!
Wanna see how a Rock & Roll musician can use a tympani drum? Check this out!! It starts with a drum solo, then he moves over to a tympani at 00:40. I've never seen this done in a rock band before! This is the drummer with the band "Queen" -- you know, the guys that do "We will, we will, rock you!"
This is pretty cool too. They put a camera in the percussion section right next to the tympani player, so you can watch him, PLUS the other tympanist AND the other percussion players. Very cool!
